Whitney Messick, RN, BSN

Whitney Messick is a registered nurse with a background spanning labor and delivery, healthcare content creation, and remote patient monitoring. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma and is licensed in Texas with compact licensure across most US states. Whitney serves older adults through her current monitoring work and reviews Lifeline content for clinical accuracy, safety, and tone. 

Nursing is Whitney’s second career. She started with a bachelor’s degree in advertising from Oklahoma State, then went back to school after becoming a mother. With a one-year-old and a three-year-old at home and a third baby on the way, she earned her BSN and became a labor and delivery nurse. She spent eleven years at the bedside where she had the privilege of being part of countless birth stories. To balance career and family, she moved into healthcare content creation at Anelto, where she helped develop patient programs across diabetes, chronic kidney disease, congestive heart failure, and other chronic diseases. 

Today Whitney works in remote patient monitoring, supporting older adults living with chronic conditions at home. Her career has given her a wide foundation: high-acuity bedside care, healthcare content development, and the day-to-day work of monitoring patients, remotely. She brings that range to every Lifeline article she reviews, with a focus on what families actually need to understand.
