According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than one out of four seniors living at home fall each year and many who fall start cutting down on daily activities out of fear of another fall. Reduced activity can make these seniors weaker and actually increase their likelihood of falling again.

Automatic fall detection provides confidence that you can get the help you need quickly after a fall.*

What is Automatic Fall Detection Technology?

When your help button detects a fall, our trained responders will contact you immediately through the system’s two-way speaker—even if you are unable to push your button. If you cannot speak, our trained specialists will contact you to assess the situation and send the appropriate help.

How Does Automatic Fall Detection Work?

Accelerometers

Barometric Sensors

Barometric Sensors

These highly sensitive sensors can detect a very small change in barometric pressure such as one from a standing position to laying on the floor.

A Finely Tuned Algorithm

What Happens When a Fall is Detected?

When a fall is detected, your Lifeline medical alert system connects quickly to our Response Center, even if you’re unconscious or unable to move. The two-way voice communication capability enables you to speak directly with one of our Trained Care Specialists. They talk with you, assess the situation, and dispatch the help you need. If the Trained Care Specialist is unable to make verbal contact with you, they may default to calling emergency services.
